Please read the following and highlight at least 3 keywords you think are important to remember:
Video game designers determine how to create a game that many people want to buy and play. They want their game to have an end goal and have the player very excited to reach the goal and beat the game. Video game designers can tell a fantasy story by making up main characters, powers, strengths, weaknesses, enemies, evil creatures, different worlds, levels, prizes, points, etc.

Now, choose any video game that you have played before. I would like you to write down the name of the game and the main character(s) of the game. ____________________________________________________________________________________
Please summarize in 2-3 sentences what the main goal of the game is and how to play:________________________________
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

YOUR TURN! Design your own video game. It is okay to be inspired by a video game that already exists. But I would like you to change it up a little so that it is your own creation!
NO GUNS PLEASE. Let's keep it school appropriate.

Name of your video game:_______________________________________________________________________
Name of the main character:______________________________________________________________________
Is the main character human or some other creature? Male or female?__________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
What world does this character live in? What are the different levels? What is the end goal or prize?______________

Who are the main character's enemies?_______________________________________________________________
Main character strengths and powers:_______________________________________________________________
Main character weaknesses:______________________________________________________________________

DRAW YOUR MAIN CHARACTER LIGHTLY IN PENCIL ON A PIECE OF PAPER.

IF YOU WANT TO DRAW A REAL LOOKING HUMAN FIGURE HERE ARE SOME HINTS: THE BODY IS ABOUT 7 HEADS TALL. HIPS ARE HALF WAY DOWN THE BODY. HANDS HANG DOWN TO THE TOP PART OF THE LEGS.
