ART PROJECT CHOICE #2 = Movie Director

Essential Question: How does a movie director tell a story?

This is a good project choice for you if:
-you have access to a cell phone that can record short video clips
-you want to be creative but you don’t want to draw
-you love using TikTok
-you don’t mind recording yourself or others for a short video
-you can keep your short video school appropriate

Materials you may need:

-pencil
-notebook paper
-phone to record video
*optional: costumes, makeup, props you can find around your house

Please read the following and highlight at least 3 keywords you think are important to remember:

Movie directors have an ability to tell a story with video clips. They use creativity to write an interesting script and then hire actors to read the script and "act out" the story. Somet directors use music instead of words. The director uses creativity so that their story is unique, interesting, and makes sense. They plan out what the background will look like and also what costumes the actors need to wear. They find items and props that the actors can use when acting to make the story seem real.

YOUR TURN! Create your own short video 1-2 minutes about how to stay safe during the coronavirus OR ways someone can keep busy and stay happy during this time. Make sure that your video is respectful and school appropriate.

Feel free to talk to your parents about video ideas! This is supposed to be fun and informative, not a video to make people worry or sad.
